Every year we see homeowners who love to mow their tall fescue at 2.5 inches.  This may look great and resemble carpet but add a little of our summer heat and the grass will burn fast, foster disease, harbor more weeds, and eat its own roots buy sucking stored carbohydrate reserves dry.  Cool season grasses such as Tall Fescue, is called “Tall” Fescue for a reason, it is used to being grown in the cooler northern states as tall pasture grass.  Tall fescue has its many advantages, mainly remaining green year-round in NC but keeping the lawn

Hi and thank you so much for visiting Capital City Groundskeeping. We’re a full service lawn care and groundskeeping company based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. I started performing lawn maintenance to my clients with one philosophy in mind: provide consistent, superior service while building lasting relationships within our community. As a recent graduate of North Carolina State University, B.S. Turfgrass Science and Biological Sciences, I’ve grown passionate about lawn care and enjoy learning about the constantly growing green industry.
