Over-seeded Ryegrass | Raleigh Lawn Care
Some clients ask us about over-seeding their Bermuda lawns with rye grass. This is typically done on some golf courses and athletic fields. It has become more popular with home lawns as you get to enjoy a green year-round lawn. Although beautiful, it can be a real challenge to over-seed and professional assistance is recommended, this is because the seed timing is critical due to the use of specialty herbicide needed to keep the weeds out, as over-seeding does not allow for pre-emergent use, and in the spring when the Bermuda lawn greens up again, the Rye can compete with the Bermuda grass and treatments are needed to phase out the Rye quickly.
